Kylie Moran was born on August 14 2008 in Bakersfield CA. When Kylie was born we couldn’t have been more excited after having three boys we were so happy it was finally a baby girl! Kylie seemed very normal and was developing great.
On November 17, 2008 I was working when I got the worst phone call of my life, it was a babysitter telling me Kylie had a seizure. I was in disbelief. I couldn’t believe that something like that would happen to one of our kids. I took Kylie to the local emergency room. As we were waiting in the ER she started to have a seizure in my arms. The nurses rushed her back and starting running tests. They transferred Kylie to Valley Children’s Hospital where she would receive more testing. After a long day of worrying and not knowing what was wrong we got the news that our prefect baby girl was never going live to be a normal baby girl. Kylie is missing 80% of the left side of her brain and also has ageneis of the corpus callosum. We were devastated. We didn’t know what was going to happen with her and we were so scared.
We stayed at the hospital for a week and Kylie’s doctors told us she doesn’t have a syndrome, she doesn’t have anything genetic she was just unlucky. She was diagnosed craniofacial dysplasia, silent aspiration, hydrocephalus, cerebral palsy, schizencephaly (rare brain malformation, cleft in brain) epilepsy (intractable seizure, infantile spasms, silent seizures), and global mental delays. She is feed with a G-J tube 24 hours hours a day. She Is 100% dependent on us. Kylie has a VNS implant which has helped with the infantile spasms but she continues to suffer every day with the other seizure types. Now she has up to 8 per day -give or take a few. Before VNS she had 100 + per day. We have tried almost every type of medication numerous combinations and all have failed currently she is on Depokote and Onfi.
Kylie is 5-years-old with a developmental age of 3 months. She is one 5 five kids. Being the only girl, she is loved and spoiled by all of her brothers. She is the most amazing little girl and has so much character. We have faith and hope that CBD oil will help her progress in life and overall have a better quality of life. Thank you Realm of Caring for everything you all do
